Steel Technology Festival 2026 (Greener Steel for Stronger Bharat)

The path to greener steel will not be paved by intent alone; it will be built on data, intelligence, and decisive action. At the Steel Technology Festival 2026, Helious Tech Solutions joined leading steelmakers, technology providers, policymakers, and sustainability experts to demonstrate how AI and digital intelligence are becoming central to India's decarbonisation journey in steel.

The Steel Technology Festival 2026 brought together a cross-section of India's steel ecosystem at a moment when the industry is under unprecedented pressure to decarbonise, from CBAM compliance and tightening domestic emissions norms to the rising cost of energy and the global shift toward green steel procurement. Against this backdrop, Helious Tech Solutions presented a focused Presentation showcasing how purpose-built AI can help steel plants reduce energy intensity, lower emissions, and optimise operations without disrupting throughput.

Showcasing AI for a Smarter, Greener Steel Plant

At the event, the team walked plant heads, operations leaders, and sustainability officers through our full suite of AI-powered solutions for the steel and heavy-manufacturing ecosystem. Each solution, while built to solve a specific operational problem, ultimately contributes to the same outcome the industry is now being measured on — lower energy use, lower emissions, and a leaner footprint per tonne of steel produced.

The conversations at our booth centred on five flagship solutions:

  • Rake Guard — AI-driven Rake and Railway logistics monitoring that reduces demurrage, idle locomotive time, and unnecessary shunting. Fewer idle hours mean lower diesel burn and a measurable reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 3 logistics emissions.
  • TAT Guard — Intelligent Truck turnaround time and theft guard, management for inbound and outbound vehicles. By cutting truck waiting time at gates, weighbridges, and bays, plants reduce fuel idling, in-yard congestion, and the carbon cost of every tonne moved.
  • Smart Store (Warehouse Management System) — AI-powered inventory visibility, slotting, and movement optimisation. Better warehouse intelligence means fewer redundant forklift trips, less rework, and significantly lower energy consumption per pallet handled.
  • Secure Sight (Access Management System) — AI-based access and movement control across plant premises. Beyond safety and compliance, it enables tighter operational discipline, which feeds directly into efficiency and emissions reporting.
  • Autonomous PPC (Production Planning & Control) — our AI-driven production planning engine that optimises schedules, sequencing, and resource allocation in real time. Smarter production plans translate directly into fewer hot restarts, less rework, lower energy waste, and a more predictable carbon footprint per heat.

A Conversation Anchored in Reality

Visitors at the event repeatedly raised the same question: how do we make sustainability commercially viable? Our response throughout the festival was consistent — greener steel is not a separate initiative bolted onto existing operations. When AI is embedded into how a plant runs day-to-day, efficiency and sustainability become the same conversation.

A Word from Our Founder

Sharing his perspective on the festival, Mr Sidakpreet Singh Batra, Founder & CEO, said:

"India's steel industry is at an inflexion point. We can no longer treat productivity, profitability, and sustainability as three separate problems — AI lets us solve them as one. The conversations we had at the Steel Technology Festival 2026 reinforced what we have long believed: the plants that lead the next decade will be the ones that combine deep metallurgical expertise with real-time intelligence. Greener steel is not a future ambition; it is an operating decision being made every shift, every heat, every tonne."

Looking Ahead

Helious Tech Solutions remains committed to enabling India's steel manufacturers to become more efficient, more resilient, and more environmentally responsible. As the industry moves toward 2030 emissions milestones and a globally competitive green-steel market, our team will continue building AI solutions that bring measurable impact to the shop floor.

We thank the organisers, delegates, and fellow exhibitors of the Steel Technology Festival 2026 for the conversations, the candour, and the shared ambition to shape a smarter, greener future for Indian steel.
