Iron ore is where the steel story truly begins — and where the next decade of industry transformation will be won or lost. At the International Iron Ore Conference 2026 in Goa, Helious Tech Solutions joined miners, pellet producers, traders, logistics operators, and policymakers to demonstrate how AI is reshaping the upstream backbone of the steel value chain.

Goa has long been a meeting ground for the global iron ore community, and the 2026 edition of the International Iron Ore Conference reflected an industry in transition. Conversations across the venue circled the same set of pressures — fluctuating global ore prices, the rising demand for DRI-grade and pellet-grade ore, tightening ESG and traceability requirements from international buyers, and the relentless need to drive efficiency through every kilometre of the mine-to-port-to-plant chain. Against this backdrop, Helious Tech Solutions presented an exhibition focused on a simple message: the upstream side of steel is fundamentally a logistics and data problem, and AI is now mature enough to solve it.

Showcasing AI for Smarter, More Responsible Mining Operations

At our booth, the team walked mine operators, plant heads, logistics managers, and ESG officers through our suite of AI-powered solutions purpose-built for the realities of iron ore movement, storage, and dispatch. Each conversation kept returning to the same theme — that responsible mining and operational excellence are no longer separate agendas.

The solutions that drew the strongest engagement at our booth:

  • Rake Guard — AI-driven rake and railway logistics monitoring, particularly relevant for iron ore players moving volumes from mine to port and from port to plant. Reduced demurrage, optimised rake utilisation, and tighter coordination with Indian Railways translate directly into lower per-tonne logistics cost and a measurably lower carbon footprint per shipment.
  • TAT Guard — intelligent turnaround time and theft management for the hundreds of trucks that cycle through mine gates, weighbridges, and dispatch yards every day. Less idling, less queuing, less diesel burn, and a far cleaner emissions profile at every gate.
  • AI-Unmanned Weighbridge Automation System — automating one of the most fraud-prone and bottleneck-prone points in the iron ore supply chain. Tamper-proof weighings, faster throughput, and full auditability — exactly what global buyers now demand under traceability and responsible-sourcing frameworks.
  • Smart Store (Warehouse & Yard Management System) — AI-powered visibility across stockyards, fines storage, and pellet handling. Better yard intelligence means lower handling losses, fewer unnecessary movements, and tighter inventory accuracy across grades.
  • Secure Sight (Access Management System) — AI-based access and movement control across mine premises, weighbridges, and dispatch points. In a sector where security, compliance, and audit trails directly affect the licence to operate, Secure Sight is increasingly a baseline expectation rather than a value-add.

A recurring observation from our conversations at the booth: the iron ore industry's next productivity leap will not come from extracting more — it will come from moving, measuring, and managing what is already extracted with far greater intelligence. That is precisely the gap our solutions are built to close.

A Word from Our Founder

Sharing his perspective on the conference, Mr Sidakpreet Singh Batra, Founder & CEO, Helious Tech Solutions, said:

"The conversations in Goa reaffirmed something we have been hearing across every mining and steel customer we work with — the upstream side of the steel value chain is being asked to deliver more tonnes, cleaner tonnes, and fully traceable tonnes, often at the same time. That is not a problem you solve with more manpower or more spreadsheets. It is a problem solved by purpose-built AI, embedded into the operations that already exist. Helious is proud to be building exactly that, for an industry that quite literally moves the world."

Looking Ahead

The International Iron Ore Conference 2026 closed with a clear shared sentiment — the Indian iron ore industry is no longer competing only on cost and grade. It is competing on efficiency, traceability, and trust. Helious Tech Solutions remains committed to equipping miners, logistics players, and integrated steelmakers with the AI-driven systems they need to lead on all three.

Our thanks to the organisers, fellow exhibitors, and every delegate who stopped by our booth in Goa for a conversation. The challenges discussed there will shape our roadmap, and we look forward to continuing the work alongside the industry.
